    Howdy,
Ok, well Ive the repeats over and done with, but have one of those horrible feelings that I might be repeating the year.....

Im in AS, just done 2nd year, passed all my LABS with flyin colours....but what i need to know is ""if i repeat the year (the modules) do i have to repeat the labs aswell, even tho i passed them all???"

im very confused about this. tried emailing the lecturers and head of my course, but no reply as of yet.

    Thanks!
    ste

I'm nearly 100% sure you dont.

You can, to the best of my knowledge, repeat exam only, but this obviously wouldn't involve attending lectures(although how they would theoretically stop you is a different matter...), or you can do full modules. Your best bet is to ask at the registry... They do have this nifty little system in the online registration system to handle repeats like this, but again I'm not sure exactly what you can and can't do. Ring registry for a definitive answer.

i failed first year - repeated 2 modules. if you only fail a module you only need to repeat that module - no others. there's a few ways to do it:
    1) internally - pay to repeat the year and then pay for each module you want to attend lectures for.
    2) externally - pay to repeat the year only

depending on which module it is (optics by any chance?) if its a big class group you can just sit in the lectures, not pay. so if i were you i'd choose option 2 - its cheaper and you can still attend lectures.

Thanks for ur help lads, appreciate it!

And RugBug, what modules did u fail last yr?
Did u repeat them externally yea? Im thinkin bout doin it that way but what if the lecturer does the role call thingy and tells me in a polite way to "get the fcuk out!"?!

Well i had to repeat all the modules (long story...drinkin and stuff ha), but mite have passed a few in the repeats. So say if i only want to pay to repeat say 3 and externally the others is that allowed ("Pick and choose")??
oh and yeah rugbug, that damn optics is one of em!

Not sure about this, but I thought if you fail a certain number of subjects you than must repeat internally.

As above, best to ask the Registry office.

i failed 2 modules in first year, the 2 chemistry ones.

i think perhaps you should submit extenuating circimstances for failing, i'm sure you know what event i'm talkin about.

lecturers rarely take a roll call, so dont worry about that. there might be a sign in sheet - just dont sign it!

i repeated externally but attended lectures. talk to registry. obvs dont mention about going without paying, they dont like that sorta thing :P!!
