Shark on RTE

The 'logic' of RTE programme schedulers continues ..

    Shark
    New series

    Sunday 02 September
    12:20am - 1:15am
    RTE1
    Pilot

US drama about a charismatic former defence attorney who switches sides by joining the prosecutor's office. As the new head of the Los Angeles District Attorney's High Profile Crime Unit, Sebastian Stark employs his trademark ruthlessness, and encourages the rest of his young team to follow suit.

Shark got decent reviews in the US & has been commissioned for a second series. I assume RTE didn't get it for free so why spend money on something and schedule it at a time when you can't give away advertising slots ??? Why not bang on repeats of Seoige & O'Shea, or something else that costs nothing , at that time of the night.

I watched the pilot... enjoyed it but never watched another episode after it for some reason.

Can anyone who's seen it (TmB presumably! ;)) tell me if it's worth seeing? Might give me something to catch up on before we get a splurge of shows back in mid September.

Basquille, believe it or not I've never even seen one episode of Shark. Early reviews said it was fun, but wouldn't last! (So I didn't bother)

I'll Sky+ it and see what its like. :)

I've seen all the first series and I would recommend it for anybody who likes legal dramas like The Practice or LA Law. It is a lot more serious then Boston Legal. I would recommend Sky+ing for those of you who don't have VCRs :D

I'm the same watched the first episode, thought it was okay, decent enough and james woods is in it but never got around or was too bothered about watching anymore, probably too many other shows on around the same period as it.

Agree that RTE might have found a time before midnight to show it.

I've seen all of it and found it very watchable. Most of that I would say is down to James Woods , although he has a good support cast. I liked the idea of poacher turned gamekeeper. Plots are as you would expect from this type of thing, as posted above e.g. The Practice, but the arrogance of Stark and his occasional "exploitation" of the law makes for good viewing. AFAIK it has been given a second season in the US.
