    Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone out there has purchased a system like this from LIDL, and would they have any info about the installation.

    http://www.lidl.ie/ie/home.nsf/pages/c.o.20070830.p.DigitalSatelliteSystem

I was wondering what channels you can pick up, how easy it is to install, and do I need any more tools to complete the installation, other than the ones provided ( I vaguely remember lidl selling a satellite tracker to connect easier)

Any thoughts would be much appreciated

A neighbour of mine got one of those systems a few months ago it's fairly complicated to set up, he had to get a friend of his who's a techno whizz to track where the satellite was with some sat finder thing that apparently comes with it then he had to lock the dish onto the position of it.
You can only receive the BBC's i.e 1,2,3 and 4, BBC News 24 and BBC World, you can't get any other stations like UTV or any of the normal tv stations you can with NTL or Sky.
You get loads of foreign stations and foreign news stations but that's it so I wouldn't get one it's too much hassle setting up then finding that you can only get weird foreign stations.
Anyway I hope this helps you out.

That's wrong. You can get any of the ITV channels you want on it. If you're friend hasn't got them then he's doing something wrong

Can you edit the post to remove the mis-information.

Even better if the mods can move the thread to the Sat forum where it belongs

To the OP, I suggest you read the thread below. I was gonna merge your thread with the existing thread, but it may only confuse things as posts end up everywhere. This thread is closed.
