Ebay spam

I have just discovered that my ebay email account has sent nearly thirty spam messages to other randon ebay users. I was alerted when someone in france responded to one of the spammed messages and I looked at the "sent messages" box in my account and found that 28 messages had been sent within a 24 hour period. All the messages having the same fingerprint/format spamming for mobile phones etc.

I have alerted ebay to the problem and changed all passwords as a precaution.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

it happened to a friend of mine, but i don't think his password was the problem..then again, i wouldn't be 100% sure he didn't accidently respond to a spoofed ebay email, and in responding to what he thought was genuine, get redirected to some site where prompted for his username/password.

another issue he experienced was people phoning him, pretending to be interested in purchasing certain items he was selling, but only asking for bank account details to transfer money..i had a chance to listen to those, and they were quite funny.

there are alot of counterfeit goods for sale on ebay, phones/phone accessories mainly, as this is a popular request from people who don't know how to spot counterfeits.

I now think that the password was "stolen" from the monster site, I have multiple internet site accounts and multiple passwords but some accounts share the same password (ebay & monster).

Lesson learned: unique passwords for all accounts!!!!!
