Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi there,
Im wondering if Sligo IT will be closed (Thus probably freeing up lots of student accom :) ) for the week before and during Rally Ireland as Sligo IT will be the Service Park for the event and will take up lots of space and cause lots of disruption..

    Thanks,
    bf1

P.S WRC RI will be on in (See Ticker below \/ :D )

I think it is only closed for the Friday of the rally. The student accomodation is still occupied by students.

i doubt you stay just for a week or two during the college year. they are only holiday homes during the summer

Even if students have dropped out at that stage, the rooms are usually rented for a semester / academic year. So there is unlikely to be space freed up.

The contact details for the student accomodations are:-

    Ard Nua Village
    www.ardnuavillage.com

    administration@ardnuavillage.com

    071 91 47760

    Gateway Apartments

    www.gatewayrentals.ie

    info@gatewayrentals.ie

    071 91 45618

    Yeats Village

    www.yeatsvillage.ie

    albanne@iol.ie

    071 91 38945

    Clarion Village

    www.clarionvillage.com

    albanne@iol.ie

    071 91 38949

    Milligan Place

    http://www.milliganplace.com/index/student

    info@milliganplace.com

    071 91 38945

    Lake Isle House

Might be worth contacting them directly, The gateway apartments would be the best for the Rally as they ajoin the campus, near the service area.

Student accomodation CANNOT be used during the year, even if there are empty apartments.

Because most of the student villages in Sligo were set up under the Section 50 Tax relief scheme (For students), only students can live there during the academic year.

How do I sound like I know so much? Because yer man in the office at Clarion told me :D

Thanks for the info everyone :) but my Accom for the event booked was booked a long, long time ago :D:D
I did think that they might stop lectures from the Wensday onwards due to the noise disruption ect.
(I know I will be anyway :) ..but wont be able to hear them from where Im travelling from tho' - WIT..)

Not an answer to the original question but news around the campfire is that people employed in the BIC will be getting security passes in order to get to work!

    :D

Oh.. and isn't the graduation ceremonies delayed by a fortnight due to the Rally? Mad schtuff!

You jammy little bástard. That's pretty sweet Basquille. Do you know any thing about what days the college will be closed for (or more preferably what days lectures will be off)?

    Fraid not mate.

Didn't even realise the college was shutting for those few days, as i heard the main service area would be at the back of the BIC so i didn't think it'd intrude with the IT's day-to-day dealings but it probably will irregardless of where it is on the campus.
