    Unfortunate - but thats life.

There was a Ferris Wheel in Dun Laoghaire last week, I managed to catch it illuminated at sunset. Unfortunately the interior lights on the DART spolied it.

A shot I missed was the RTÉ mast against the glorious red setting sun - no Eifel Tower, but one I'll know to look out for it in future - along with the bridge that got in the way.

Not as bad as you make out.
The lights line-up with the power lines, so you've got a "feature", which keeps the shot interesting.
I actually like the second one.

On contrary - if there was a frame of the DART window, that would be fantastic and appropriate with the lights. If you are inside, don't hide it, use it!
    Fantastic colours, great pictures.

I like the first one... the imposing dart interior as the foreground gives it a kind of seperation from the subject... like a flower photographed through prison bars.
I think it adds a thoughtful dimension to an otherwise run of the mill photo.
I'd prefer this shot over some sterile "technically superior" one... far more interesting IMHO.

like a flower photographed through prison bars.
Thats your inner photographer screaming to get out of the DART. ;)

I think a contrasy B&W could work very well with these?

I actually like the lines in the second one...it's far more thought provoking than a snapshot of a ferris wheel.

don't be too hard on yourself...sometimes we don't catch the beauty in a shot until later.

Go play then. :) I tried playing around with the lighting to gbring out the railway tracks, but it also brings out a lot of clutter in the background. Time to get inventive.

Yeah but it raises the question; why?

i like the second one. The framing and speed give a sense of isolation and fleeting sadness.

or its just a ferris wheel from the dart.

Is artifact city due to size & adjustments used, but you get the idea :)

    Very nice Al.
I had a quick go myself

Added a bit of noise and generally tried to dirty it up.

I really like this shot Victor, you're too hard on yourself!

I suppose I'm annoyed at missing the other shot and having the big light fitting showing. :(

Actually, much prefer yours Suspect :)

Suspect - you've just showed us that darkroom (postprocessing) is the second and the same important part of creative photography. Thank you.
I must learn so much :-(

    Chucks, :o
    thanks folks.

I find it easier to butcher other peoples work than my own.
Plus my own shows are usually rubbish!

You got the shot and photoshop should be able to get rid of those reflections.
if you feel like uploading a full res copy please do and we can see what can be done.
