    Hey guys new to airsoft
Have been to the HRTA only to collect my M5 A4.
But to tell you the truth felt a bit under dressed when seen most of you guys out there.
    Some cool weapons,
But as i am only starting out was still awaiting arrival of some more weapons from the local source eirsoft.

Want kinda games do you get up to out there, and can i just show up and have a go .
really want to get into it.
But after reading most of your threads, dont want to be a loner if you get my meaning.

need to get some quality time from , the one who thinks kids should play cowboys & indians.

    Thanks guys

dude there is always about 15 minimum at hrta...and since this SPORT is only a year or so old...you are not too far away from the rest of us...hrta is the best place to go to see before you buy and to allay your fears, there was a guy (brand new to airsoft) kicking ass there 2 weeks ago..it was his first time..so give it a go...trust me you wont regret it....

You can just turn up and you'll be attached to one of the teams for games, that's no problem at all. Everyone at HRTA is friendly, most of the time ;) One piece of advice I'd give you is to listen to what the experianced players are planning before a battle, some new players don't and end up either dying very fast or shooting members of there own team :p You'll get a lot more out of it by working with your unit.

Most of the games played are outdoor games. Some of them are straight up attacks to destroy a defending team but there are also scenario games such as sniper hunt, deactivate the bomb, etc.

Don't worry so much about not having all the gear, most of us didn't starting out. Just get out there and enjoy yourself ;)

At the moment we have HRTA and a site opening in Drogheda. There was also a guy who wanted to open one in Cork but he hasn't been back to mention it since.

First the word 'weapons' is a no-no, these are ugh... "Toys" (but i call em sporting equipment). second, eirsoft has jacket and pants, will need to go a little farther afield for tactical gear, speaking of which, i'm not too certain a tactical sling is the best way to start out, standard is so much easier.

And you wont be a loner, i have no real equipment at the moment, and might head up to hrta before i sort it out. so, no worries?

the gear, give yourself time and you'll soon be looking like a mean muthafooka.:D

    Another new face here,

Been lurking around for a while, planning on heading to HRTA pretty soon. I've always been a bit of a gun nut, played a bit of paintball here and there. Have a few cheapo spring airsoft pistols from back when they were illegal but they suck.

Waiting on the delivery of a shiney new AK 47S some time this week, so once that gets here I'll probably head over to HRTA to find out what it chrono's at and maybe get to try shooting at a few folks with it.

Anyway hello to all, hope to get shot at by some of you soon.

Hey Markspi, im new to this also. Havent been out to HRTA yet but plan to soon. Probably only for a half day at first as the funds are a little low. You will find alot of good info here from these guys. I wouldnt have had a clue without the sticky threads here and the general advice from the forum users. As for the newbie thing, i have been on this forum for a very short while (thats the Airsoft one, been on boards in general for ages) and have seen alot of new people coming on with questions about going to HRTA by themselves and they all seem to have got on fine there. Anyway, if your going, you can always say here when and can arrange to meet anyone else here thats going the same day. Might help ease the whole "turning up and not knowing anyone" feeling. Have fun anyway and play safe ;)

I been on my own loads of times and have put all my €€€ into a good quality AEG+pistol+bits.
I have a cr@ppy cheap camo smock at the moment which Ive only had the last 2 times.

Dont worry about loads of gear, no point in shorter HRTA games, wieght, noise ,awkwardness imo. Yer brain and sum tactics are much more important.

I will be getting good camo at sum point but its not an issue playing in old jeans etc, just wear some dark clothes and hide in the shadows ;) Good boots are the absolute must tho!!!
