Odd driver Problem

I'm having a strange problem with my PC.

    Spec:
    Asus P5VD2-MX
    Pentium D 3.4GHz
    2GB DDR2
    NVIDIA GeForce 7300LE 256MB
    Samsung SH-S182D SB02 DVDRW
    Maxtor 6V200EO 200GB SATA II
    Samatron 19" TFT
    Octigen 19'' TFT
    XPSP2

It's about 4 months old this PC, and I did a fresh install about 2 months ago. It was working fine, then one day I came into work and when booting up after the Windows logo, I'd just get a black screen. So I booted into safe mode with Networking and everything seemed okay with no problems showing up in event viewer.

I disabled a good few things in device manager and then by process of elimination, realised it was the driver for my DVDRW that was causing a problem. This was just a windows driver, nothing special. I tried system restore as well but it wouldn't work.

So that was a bit wierd so I uninstalled it and when I rebooted it automatically reinstalled the drive and all was good for another week or so until the same thing happened. This time it wasn't the DVD drive, it turned out to be the display driver. So I did the same thing as before and it worked fine again.

I'd sort of messed up my pc doing other things and decided to do a fresh install (I also wasn't that busy and want to create a ghost copy of my install for emergency anyway.). So I did my reinstall... and then it happened again today, except this time I was in the middle of doing something (uninstalling Yahoo toolbar from IE7) and the PC just saved my settings and rebooted. Back in device manager I tried the DVD driver, made no difference, then I disabled the display driver and I got into windows..

But when I reinabled the DVD driver, I couldn't get back into Windows again! So I uninstalled both of them, and after a couple of reboots into safe mode and leaving the pc for a few minutes, it reinstalled the necessary drivers and then I got back into normal mode.

I'm really don't know whats happening my PC, any ideas?!
