[req] laptop bag

I'm looking for a good priced laptop bag (online or bricks 'n' mortar) for a 15.4" laptop (it's one of the Dell Vostro 1000's that people have been on about here).

I have a bag off an old laptop that fits it OK but it's not perfect - am preferably looking for something that doesn't look like a laptop bag too... saw something in the laptop shop today that looked good - was a single-strap bag but had a flap going over the top of it, so it looked like your average kind of bag.

Would be great to find something that lets me put the laptop and power cable in and still have room for something like a notepad etc.

    Any suggestions?

check out crumpler "the gimp" sleeves, i swear by them, it's basically a sleeve made out of the same material as wet-suits, they hold the laptop well.

i put mine into a standard jansports bag, and i don't have that dredded ohh look he has a laptop with him labelled on me.

it amazes me how many people i see in dublin with a big fecking dell or vaio logo on their bags and to a lesser extent targus, just screaming to be mugged tbh.

here's where i got mine for my macbook.

That seems like a good solution - the inconspicouous laptop bags are quite pricey.

Is that link the best price you could find?

i think so, you can buy them on their site as well www.crumpler.de but they are slow delivery and charge extortionate delivery.

duno if im allowed post this here but what the hey.

I have a Targus laptop backpack that holds a 15.4" laptop.
This bag is in perfect condition. no rips, tears and almost no signs of wear. Got a case with my new laptop so dont need this anymore. I paid just shy of 100 euros for this bag 2 years ago. I liked this backpack as its very comfortable with its heavily padded straps, and doesnt look like a laptop bag so your not a beacon for thievs. quite well padded also and tons of room for cables, books, external drives and anything else that might take your fancy. there are about 8 small zip pockets, a large compartment for books, another large compartment with internal pockets for cables and adapters and other pc stuff, and then there is the laptop pouch that easily takes my 15.4" laptop. Check it out http://www.amazon.com/Targus-Sport-Deluxe-Computer-Backpack/dp/B000EHPAUO/ref=sr_1_4/002-8128167-0248038?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1188485219&sr=8-4

pcworld in liffey valley had antler laptop bags for 25 euro - like a satchel / schoolbag (not a rucksack, although they had thoses also - more expensive though). Good quality and plenty of space inside, you'd get 2 laptops in and not too heavy also.

Cremo, cant seem to see any for a 15.4" laptop. How flexible are these? Just wondering would the 15" be big enough...

These (or similar) are on sale in PC World at the moment. I can't remember the price but remember thinking them not too dear. 'Pakuma' was the brand anyway.

PC World do some thing like that for about €20. They have a few different sizes.

I bought one in america years ago. Much safer. I wouldnt let my sister buy a laptop bag and gave it to her.

Gona be getting a 17'' one for when I go back to college

Tesco are doing very nice little laptop bags and I got one from as a present last Xmas. Don't know if its suitable for your size laptop as mine's not a 15.4" ...I've been told they also do one with a free mouse. No idea of price unfortunately...sorry!

The 15" W (widescreen) ones seem to be the right size for a 15.4" laptop.

I went into the Laptop Shop in Omni today to see what they had - they had plenty of crumplers. I was expecting them to be pricey enough but was surprised to see them there for €30, cheaper than the company's own site without the hassle of delivery.

Anyway, they didn't seem to have any for widescreen 15" but the guy said they normal 15" would fit - it'd be a bit of a squeeze for the first week but after that it'd be fine... not convinced but said I'd bring my laptop along and check it out myself when I did decided to buy one.

I bought a decent backpack for my laptop in Powercity for around €20. Have it a year now and still very happy with it. Have had loads of laptop bags and cases and the Powercity one is the best one so far.
