Just happened to flick onto this and remember the first time watching thinking it was crap, but I've come around to appreciate it now.
Ok Tommy Lee Jones has to have the worst Oirish accent ever set to film, at least Jeff Bridges doesn't even bother trying. But this film had a decent enough cast with Jeff & Lloyd Bridges, the mad Tommy Lee Jones, Forest Whitaker and the future Mrs Jim Cameron, Suzy Amis. And it was directed by Stephne Hopkins who game us Predator 2 and directed a load of episodes for 24.
Whats really great is the amount of stuff thats blown up and the elaborate bombs Tommy rigs. I read on IMDB that a piece of shrapnel from an exploding bomb truck nearly killed Jeff Bridges.
The soundtrack is full of Irish Artists like U2, the Pogues, The Wolftones.
Also in the credits they thank Mr Paul Hill.

Anyway, if its on TV again or you want to rent a dvd this is worth a watch.

    Snake ;)

Yea? Then check out Irish Jam

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0405052/

You'll pull out your teeth at the stereotyping in this.

Bah I completely forgot this was on last night!!! Instead I got lamped with *pansey voice* Grey's Anatomy!!, bah!!! Twas a decent enough movie, a bit strange seeing Lloyd Bridges act serious considering I was so used to him in the Hot Shots movies! Plus it had a ridiculious premise but, hey, that's Hollywood!

Irish Jam, filmed in Cornwall with the likes of Dudley "Tinker off Lovejoy" Sutton doing Oirish accents, about as silly as his role in the Michael Caine vs Pirates film The Island.
Blown Away, esp. hillarious with the black and white flashback scenes of "Ireland" filmed on the UNiversal "Little Europe" sets where the original Frankenstein, Murder she Wrote, many films and TV shows have been done, inc. "Cork" in Heroes. It must be Norn Iron as there's red phone boxes :?
Gaerity is not even a proper name.
