Ok so the plan is to buy a new monitor off ebay for €1200! Now the limit on the credit card is €1000 but from what I hear on here I can add money to that and make the limit higher? Is this true!? If it is do I just pay money into it like I would normally by paying the bill?

    Im with permanent tsb...

If I cant do this can I use money in my paypal account to add to the credit card limit? Ive got 80 something in it now so the limit on the card is 1000 = 1080 buying through paypal?

    Thanks :)

I done this before when I had a flight costing over €1000 and the bank manager told me to deposit the x amount it cost and it would appear as a credit on the account. Call your bank to make sure.

Thats right daz, any money already in your PayPal account will be used first. So if worse comes to worst you could have somebody send money to your PayPal account so that you have enough available.

It would probably work out cheaper to 'load' the cash onto your credit card. You may also be able to have the limit on your card temporarily increased for the transaction, you should call your card provider and ask them if that can be done. That would be the easiest.

No problems with loading cash onto a CC. I do it all the time, hate paying interest. Your CC just becomes a debit card. If you have an MBNA CC they tell you the amout you have to spend and if you load cash then your available cash increase but limit stays the same. My AIB CC also shows when I'm in credit.

So when buying stuff on ebay there's no problem combining paypal credit with a credit card (or combining credit cards) to make one purchase is that right?
