Things to do in San Francisco and Vegas

Planning well in advance (not going until Feb) but I thought I'd put out some feelers for ideas of stuff (not the obvious, Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Casinos and Grand Canyon) to do in San Francisco and Las Vegas. More then just stuff to do, but places to eat, good bars and clubs etc! John
