Sky issues

Hey, we're part of a group scheme here that was put in when the apartment block was built. I'm curious as to what could cause the below problems and what exactly can be done to fix them.

The signal just isn't picked up for some channels: History Channel, Film 4 et al.
The signal comes and goes (varying between perfect, distorted with sound skipping and no signal picked up at all) for RTE etc.
The signal is perfect for most of the channels, Sky One, Discovery etc.
Occasionally the whole thing breaks down and I need to reset the box to get things working again. (ie the signal problems above remain but the box is no longer unable to pick up signals from the channels it normally picks up, I figure it's crashing or something)

Is it wiring or is there something wrong with the signal?

Have you attempted with another digibox? Its unlikely to be wiring but could be a dish issue, I'd suggest it as the most likely cause as resetting the digibox is just giving it more time to recover. The managment company should be able to get an installer out to take a look at the dish and possibly replace it with a better one (group schemes should never be using standard Sky dishes really) if there is a fault.

Another question is wheter you know any of the neighbours you could ask to see if its a widespread issue.

No, I might see if I can get my hands on one. I'll ring the management company tomorrow and see if they'll send somebody out.
