Ski Holiday - Looking for tips on where to go

Just looking for some tips for a skiing holiday.

Myself and a group of friends - about 10 of us - are trying to plan a skiing holiday at the moment.

We're not too fussy on where we go once the skiing is reasonable (and suitable for beginners) and the apres ski is enjoyable and the food is edible.

We are hoping to rent a chalet and are willing to spend a bit of money getting somewhere nice.

So, would like some tips really on where to get nice chalets and anything else useful.

I remember being told by a friend years ago that they got this great place that was a fully serviced chalet, just can't remember who it was that told me about it.

Also, tips on good Apres Ski venues are always useful.

    thanks a mil.

Went last February (half term) for the kids first ever snow/ski holiday to Flaine

We were very concerned at the reports of No snow in many of the Alpine resorts and indeed driving from Geneva to Flaine we were concerned as there wasn't much snow around. there was great relief when we topped the rim of the natural snowbowl to find lots of snow here. Suffice to say that the kids had a ball and so did we.....Flaine 2007 014.jpg

Andora is good, cheap and cheerful - but can get quite boring if your more advanced..

Austria is varied for beginners & advanced skiing...
