Easy fold vs. unknown in SE?

    €1/€2 PL in the SE

I’ve just joined the table, and have never played with the villain before so no reads.

I have €600 and villain covers.

4 early position limpers (typical SE stuff)
Villain ATTEMPTS to raise from the cutoff but accidently makes a string-raise. The dealer declares it a call.

I pick up AdKc in the small blind and raise it up to 15.

1 limper calls and the villain just calls.

Flop comes down A98 with 3 clubs. I have TPTK with the nut flush draw, I Hollywood roll my eyes and check.
EP Limper checks and villain bets about the size of the pot (45).

I check/raise to 180, limper folds and the villain thinks for a moment and then reraises the full size of the pot, which make almost all-in. So I'm basically pot committed for my last €405 if I call.

    Can I call here?

If the answer is no, I’m also interested to hear what people would normally do in this spot… i.e. “this is a clear fold but I’d normally stick it in anyway because I’m a gamblor...”

I ship it, your craise was obviously planned so nothing should change your thinking, you made a concious descion you were ahead when you check raised so stick it in and hope for the best.

Given the fact you have the nut flush draw you still have outs if he has hit 2 pair/set/flopped flush

i dont do maths in situations like this but im getting it into the middle before ive realised what ive done. this isnt far removed from El Stuntmans thread earlier today.

Lead out on the flop. That way you get raised and then you're the one who gets to push all in over the top and make him make the decision.

As played I think you have to assume a set and fold, unless you have a read on this player as someone who will hugely overplay a hand like TPTK or bottom 2 pair.

EDIT: I just re-read and saw the 3 clubs on board. I still think it's a fold. Just add "made flush" to the "assume a..." part of what I said!

a fold would be terrible in this spot

I'm surprised everyone's so unanimous about this. What do you expect the Villain to have here?

EDIT: I suppose we are getting 2 to 1 so it's a marginal but OK call against a set. But against a made flush surely we're not getting odds to call?

bet the flop, the cr is really really bad esp. when u don't know what to do when he shoves.

    I kinda prefer folding tbh.

Check raising without a plan of what to do if they shove is really really bad.
I would never c/r here but if I did I damn well calling any push

I smell a sense of tomfoolery about this thread.

You are over playing the hand IMO. Check raising here is waaaayyy tooo strong

I'd bet flop and call a raise and re-assess the turn. My usual line here is to play a smallish pot here unless I improve to the Flush.

As played against an unknown I usually find a fold. I'll throw a few hands into pokerstove later and see what comes up.

Yeah the flashbash was popular for the last few days, seems the primewise pisstake is now fashionable

lead the flop, lose the hollywood, and since this is live he will probably do this with AQ and Q of clubs, i find it hard to fold here in a live game to be honest.... never underestimate or should i say overestimate the quality of live players that frequent the irish casinos!:p

as played i beat him into the pot because why else would you c raise if you didnt have the plan to call a shove?
