yeh that 2nd tilt shift image is nice.. Like the last one too, although maybe it would benefit from a little more processing to clean up some of the haze?

I only have a Fine jpg for that picture as it was taken with my Panasonic FZ8 before I got the D40x, I dont actually know how to clean it up, I'd love to remove some of the haze but there was a lot of spray on the day and I agree that it does detract from the photo a good deal.

1, 4 and 5 I think are pretty good, number 2 makes me sick when I look at it :( Stick loads of contrast into it to get rid of the spray

Good shots BTW. You can't really get rid of the spray otherwise sure the whole point of the photo is lost.

lovely job on that one.. The boat is really a feature in the photo now.

3 is lovely. the dodging and burning looks too obvious in no. 1.

lurve number 1. I'm starting to attempt some hdr but good heavens i've a long way to go yet. Yours turned out nice. Good job. A tight crop at the bottom - intended or just about got away with it? Cheers.

No 1 is a great shot. Like 2 but I think the waterfall is really distracting. 3 is another fantastic shot. Sorry but 4 & 5 do nothing for me.

I like 2 but i would crop the left side of it as there is kind of distracting straight vertical line, i dunno is a funny looking building or what, just looks weird. Otherwise it is a neat pic, really looks like a model set

Love the tilt-shift - where is it? Not so wild about the others compositionally.

    I really like 2!
Did you use a "real" tilt-shift lens or was it photoshopped?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,268 ✭✭✭trooney

The first one is really really nice. Maybe a bit of a crop, to lose the bottom left corner. Don't really like those tiltshift shots at all. Maybe I just don't get them.
Anyhoo.. Nº1 all the way baby... :D

Photoshopped I'm afraid, not advanced enough to be using dedicated lens for it :)
