    i laughed out loud

The story behind Josh is that he seems to be forgetting that an important part of winning is passing your drugs test.

I was about to say! Josh fails to mention why he was stripped of his title. Reading that you'd think he was stripped over some contract disagreement or something and not because he was cheating.

That's the sourest of sour grapes ... Couture is a hall-of-famer for a reason, the man is quite simply a legend. I think any former champion with class would be happy for Couture, the man is an inspiration.

Barnett is still active in PRIDE, at least until very recently ... so he must be passing drugs tests currently.

I would love to see a rematch with Couture though, if these comments are true :)
Can't see it happening though ... the UFC are not going to accept Barnett back to the fold anytime soon... not with the current crop of heavyweight draws.

They don't do drug testing in Japan and the use of steroids isn't overly frowned on.

Thats because steroids are not illegal in Japan.

It would be like looking down on a fighter in ireland for taking protein.

    Just another supplement.

    Wow ... I didn't know that

PRIDE 32 was held in the USA, and Barnett was on the cards for that ... I would have thought drugs testing in the USA is common practice, if not mandatory ??

If you read through the attached link, it seems that some fighters were tested, and some were found to have drugs in their system. Also ... one fighter provided a dubious urine sample, "It was either allegedly non-human urine or urine from a dead human being" according to the NSAC testers.

    link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PRIDE_32

Still ... pure sour grapes. Couture is the real deal.

Lost some respect for Barnett. Considering Mirko beat Barnett three times, 2 of which were absolute whoopings, and Randy just whooped the guy who KO'd Mirko it shows a lack of class. The only person allowed question Randys title reign is a Russian chap named Fedor!

And he doesn't question it. Fedor in any interview I've seen by him is very respectful of Couture.

Fedor said before that he considers Randy to be the best and his favourite fighter.

Just got a chance to watch the build up and fight today, he's a legend and an inspiration.

Randy is a class act and a legend. Anyone who says otherwise should go to the naughty corner and contemplate their blasphemous utterances.

Randy has been given lots of shots for the title but he beats people that in theory have everything on him, what a man-a true inspiration and a real life Rocky figure, i dont know how anyone can dislike randy...

HA ha ha ha...... just read that snip... He’s only lost to Big Nog, Cro Cop, and Pedro Rizzo because they are the only tough guys he’s fought. Seriously, Semi Shilt? Dan Severn a hundred years ago? Those guys weren’t MMA fighters, they were tough but all you have to do is watch Ken Shamrock against Tito (or Rich Franklin) to realize that it was a completely different sport back then. Josh Barnett would get destroyed by Randy.

The Natural gets better every time he fights.

Apparently Randy himself claims to be a paper champion.

Since pride is dead the UFC champ is seen as the MMA world champion.

Good luck to Randy beating the much improved (and hopefully clean) Barnet, the (going on his last fight) in decline big NOG (but that could be to do with his boxing priority at the time), CroCop (spare me the MMAth), Hunt or Fedor.

And I mean that, good luck to him because he is a great guy and a great champion.

Oh yeah while I'm at it people always say Randy has the most heart of any fighter... I suppose being undead might disqualify big Nog but otherwise no-one comes close to Nog for sheer Zombie like tenacity.

    Peace

I see lots of potentially very tough fights for Randy in the future but i don't see him shrinking away from any of them.

I think thats the real reason people like him so much.

Nice to know Barnett would be up for fighting in the UFC.
    In case anyone there cares...
