Sunday World Bike Section

I enjoy reading the Sunday world bike guy,his reviews are honest and to the point.One thing I have started to notice about the section is the constant plugging of one particular well knowing bike shop on the south side of Dublin.Nothing wrong with plugging a shop if they do good deals but its getting pretty constant,take last Sunday for example it was not a plug as such it was basically a full page add for the shop which meant not one bit of proper bike coverage.And its not a once off IIRC its happening once every few weeks.

Now far enough the shop were giving away some free stuff in a competition,but does this merit what was basically a full page add in a national newspaer..?I am sure a full page add would cost a lot more then whatever was up for grabs in the competition.Don't get me wrong I am not against giving away stuff but put it in one paragraph at the end of the section don't take up the whole page.

Has anybody else noticed this...?

yeah i used to read the page but i just got pissed off for it being a constant add/competition

Serves you right for reading that rag. You get what you pay for - the Sunday World is a tittie paper with sensationalist stories about pikies and prostitutes.

Spend your hard-earned on a copy of Bike every month and read decent journalism which is only moderately biased toward the advertisers...

I am not surprised. Whether Bikebuyers Guide or a UK mag, there seems to be typical supplier of second hand machines etc. And there can be a certain appearance of bias.

There is bias and then in this case every 4/5 weeks we have NO content just one big add.This just not right IMO.
