Web addresses

I am trying to clear old web addresses from my system, and already have deleted history, cookies, temporary internet files etc.

For example, when I type www.p to start an address, www.paddypower.com automatically comes up.

    Any suggestions

Clearing the ol' porn addresses out, eh? :p

Internet Options > Click Contents tab > Click AutoComplete > Clear Forms

If you don't want IE to remember your addresses just untick the boxes in the said window.

    Badda Bing, Badda Boom!

A free program called cccleaner will do this for you.

Should just use firefox. It's 'clear private data' feature is perfect for the porn surfer who's lifestyle is too busy to clean up after themselves.

It'll remember everything while you are using it so you get easy access to all those sites you want. When you close it though it deletes what you want deleted (either automatically or ask you on close). This can be history, cookies, form history (the www.p stuff). So it takes care of you everytime and you don't have to remember to run it. So your girlfriend can be allowed to use your login, safe in the knowledge she won't find anything.

I am aware of one breakup where a girlfriend used the boyfriend's computer and found history of swingers sites. She got out of there very quickly.

But all this is still valid for hiding a gambling addiction.

I've never used it but I probably should, I've looked up some fairly dodgy stuff in my time.

I am not convinced that the firefox delete gets it off the disk 100% so I use a product called cyberscrub which gives me great comfort as it scrambles the free space as well.

In passing, watch for the history in the google toolbar search thingy:it is easy to forget!

Just wondering how u can be happy that this, or similiar, is doing what is says on the tin and not in fact embedding some serious virus/keystroke collector etc etc on the pc.

How do you know that cyberscrub isn't doing the same thing?

CrapCleaner is a perfectly legitimate product, that thousands of users use and trust. I have used it for a couple of years now with absolutely no problem and no viruses.
