Front door step

Got a new front door fitted a few weeks back and took up the old tiles on the front step. I had intended all along to lay black quarry/marble tiles(100mm-150mm), its only just over a sq yard (5 foot by 1.5foot with a 4 inch riser) Door is black uPVC by the way. Then i thought.... why not get a solid piece of black granite made up and cover the step in that, A few phone calls later and i can get a non-slip granite finish cut for €250, i provide the template and lay it myself, or €450 and they template it and lay it.

Anyone have this done or seen it down ?

    Thanks,

    oleras.
