    Hey Bottom.

This is deffo in the wrong forum, but i would suggest you run a anti-virus scan, along with a spy/mal ware scan. AVG is a good AV program, and spybot search & destroy is good for spyware.

I will ask a mod to move this post to the correct forum.

    which version of windows ?

have you tried booting in safe mode to see if it's better there

it's difficult to figure out slowness without an error message :(
but if you don't have a working firewall + antivirus + anti malware then you probably have something you don't want running in the background

how much space is free on the drive ?

if the HDD is making funny noises try hard drive diagnostics or use a program like www.hdtune.com to check the drive is ok
