Well its been confirmed, if you're watching b4 the 2nd ep, the announcer said late Sept. RTE are showing Prison Break S3, the question how late compared to Sky on the 24th?
Edit: you dont want to bull**** about that!

But if $ky are gonna show it on Monday 24th of September at 10pm.
Wouldnt it be a kick in the teeth if RTE show it at 9pm as that is the last Mon of late Sept in which the announcer was almost saying :-)

Wasn't watching so I didn't hear that, but if it's true that's great news. RTE are not so useless after all.
Edit: you weren't bull****ting, she said it again at the very end of the last ep!

Yeh I heard her saying that. Seems possible !!

I think it's ridiculous that they haven't said exactly when though !

In fairness to them, I prefer watching Prison Break on RTE 2. Less ads and the double episodes are great - can't see Sky doing the same somehow!

if rte show season 3 like suggested in this thread, it will most definitely change to single airings.

Assuming RTE start the same week (or same day) we'll be getting Prison Break the week after it airs in the US so we're back to single episodes. On the down side we'll also have to sit through the mid-season break the americans do. ah well!!

It might go that way as it also advertised Just For Laughs nx wk @ 10:30pm & that's usually on for a while, so i'd say 9/9.30 showings i hope :D

Or RTE will include more ads to make it look like a double-header  :p
As i did hear a while back some silly EU rule saying there werent enough ads on Irish programming

I'm baffled that people haven't realised how much this show has gone down the tubes. It's just awful now, totally lost the plot during S2.

I totally disagree and judging by the number of people watching this season and hanging out for the next one, I think you are in the minority!

I guess I am, people are very easily pleased.

It used to be a very good show, the first few episodes of S2 were good too, then IMO, it decended into pure sh1te, there are only so many episodes you can watch where they get caught and yet again manage to escape, twice, every episode, before it loses any and all credibility and tension.

Also, the two leads, are two of the worst most wooden actors I have witnessed in a very popular prime-time TV show in a long time.
(no wonder they never get caught when they are running through the forest chased by 20 cops with rabid dogs :p )

    i agree kind of.

not a patch on season 1 was season 2 but it was still very enjoyable and still a hell of a lot better than 90% of shows on tv.

As said above your in the minority. I thought season two was just as good as season 1. I can't wait for season three, it does look really good now that they're locked up again with a few additions:D .

It said on the RTE Guide about 2 weeks ago it will be showing late September.

I flicked over to Sky last week and the flingin' flangin' S3 ads they had on every two minutes ruined the ending of S2. To add further insult to...insult, they showed new footage in pretty much every ad. I wasn't impressed with that...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,905 ✭✭✭User45701

they are only showing footage because the first 19 mins of season 3 are online

    So...

    US: 17th Sept
    Sky1: 24th Sept
    RTE: Late September?

as pointed out 24th is the last monday in september so hopefully RTE will get it ahead of sky

while i dont agree with the comments that prison break is now awfull , he has some interesting points , they do milk every single possible angle involving every single charechter ( even with charechters we dont care about , bellick should have been let kill himself early in season 2 , while he was an effective prison screw in season 1 , now hes just a greedy moron

that said its still in my opinion the best show on tv right now seeing that the sopranos has finished , its a thousand times better than the much more hyped and insaneley over rated LOST

as regards the 2 leads being wooden , micheal is somewhat wooden but maybe a guy this clever needs to be played a little cold
his brother lincoln i believe is a much more human charechter, he has a temper , hes not overly bright and he has issues with his son
also there is absoluteley no chemistry between micheal and sarah
that said there are strong acting performances elsewhere in the show
t - bag is great , a likeable psycho , kellerman was good , mahone is an interesting charechter and that chineese american company guy was very good too , so to c -note and sucre , both c note and sucres love storys were convincing
the 2 leads are probabley the least engaging charechters

Well the new drama series 'Prosperity' starts next week @ 21:30, its 60 mins long and has 4 episodes! Maybe they will change the night Prison Break is on.

I'd agree with most of this - especially the comment about Lost.. I just don't get the appeal of that show! Everytime I've watched it, it's the same .. 35 mins of flashbacks, 10 mins of "plot development" that give no answers.

if only BBC would get these shows:( think about it..no adds, 40 mins of pure show..

Thank Cillian Murphy they got exlusive Heroes Season 2 :D
Hopefully,if it does as well as season 1, It will persaude them to buy other US shows

anytime i ever watched LOST , i watched the 1st 5 or 6 eppisodes untill flashbacks of everyone became the order of the day , i expect that eventually they will show flash backs of how the plane itself was built by boeing in seattle only in order to be contemporary they will probabley stress how most of the building was outsourced to china , that should give them an entire series
    incredibley tedious show
saw the 1st eppisode of HEROES , found the pace very slow and have not watched it since but i cant watch every show on tv so will probabley just not watch it , hard to believe but ive never actually watched 24 or ER , 2 of the biggest shows on tv in the past 10 yrs , i never missed one eppisode of the sopranos in the 8 yrs it was on
i think watching shows involves a commitment and i cant be faithfull to everything on the box

You expect one broadcaster to accommodate the viewers of another?

Yes. That's EXACTLY what I hoped to achieve by posting that. Not merely venting my spleen on an unfortunate, incident that soiled the end of Series 2. I wanted the almighty Fox conglomerate to bow to the awesome power of the viewers of a small national station

No need to get all arsey. If you notice it was a question, not a statement. Rolleyes to you.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 499 ✭✭Gizzle

Consider me rolleyed. I (mis)interpreted your comment to be arsey. Pitfalls of the interweb. Anyways, OT, I definitely see I slight decrease in tension between S1 and S2, but it's still a cracking show. Hopefully, going "back to its roots" in S3 will re-introduce some of the real arse-clenchers from S1.

Oh god. How come every time someone starts a thread about a TV show it inevitably descends into Lost bashing. This thread has nothing to do with Lost this is the Prison Break forum. They have a stickied thread in the Lost forum for those who don’t like the show to complain (it seems to be the cool thing to do).

Oh and Rigger I kind of agree with you. I lost interest in Prison Break about half way through this season but the last 4 episodes were excellent. You should check them out. Really looking forward to next season. The premise looks great.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,271 ✭✭✭irish_bob

i accept that its becoming the norm for people to bash LOST
its just the show was so hyped before it arrived , much more so than PRISON BREAK which for its 1st series got almost no hype at all
i remember i stumbled across the 1st eppisode by accident last june after watching a world cup match
it is being hyped to death now but unlike LOST was launched in a very low key fashion
