Could be the first case of a thread being moved from Dublin City to AH

I'm sure Mr.Biko and friends will demand it be sent back considering the word "Dublin" is in the replies. It may have a chance of staying in AH however if some says something like "Dublin skangers ate my baby" or "Dublin is a filthy kip and should be nuked". Those kind of negative Dub threads have a longer life time in AH.

I enjoy Gaelic football, hurling, soccer, cricket but I can never seem to get an interest in rugby. I find it so uninspirational and pointless. I played it in school but never liked it.

I wouldn't say I 'hate' it though but I just cannot muster up any interest in O'Driscoll and co.

    I enjoy cricket.

I was the same as you about the oul egg ball sport before but about 5 years ago I worked with a bloke who was a rugby fanatic. I never had much interest up until that point but at after work beers on a saturday afternoon he would sit in his corner watching the egg ball while the rest of us watch the premiership on the big screen. I started watching it with him drunkenly a few times and after he explained to me what the hell they were doing I got really into it and have been a big fan ever since.

It's more interesting in a tactical sense rather than out right exciting but once you understand the game and recongnise the skill and team work involved it becomes very addictive. I'd actually bunk off work early to catch a rugby match rather than a soccer match these days (unless Liverpool are playing of course).

Depends on which rugby. Union in my opinion is an antiquated dull grey blob.

League on the other hand is a spectacular sport that doesnt get the attention it deserves outside of its main playing areas: Aus NZ England.

Union people are very bigoted by and large and the authorities have gotten away with some despicable behaviour. Most visibly classism but racism and fascism can also be thrown in there as well.

They were actively involved in apartheid in South Africa and Nazism in France in the second world war. But we dont talk about these things now do we.

I attempted to get into it when the whole country went rugger mad back when croker was opened for it around March. Like my soccer, like boxing, Id prob like American football and basketball if I got into it, but really cant get excited about rugby, my main gripe is how ****ing long it takes to wait for someone to win the ball when there are 8 lads jumped ontop of each other in a big pile (i care so little i cant recall the technical term :) )

Mind you, late night I caught a bit of baseball on tv. Homer Simpson was right, if you arent drunk you realise how boring the game is. Jesus Christ, the pitcher threw the ball maybe 15 times at the batter and he still didnt get a strike, useless sh1te

I like rugby, but it's not my main sport. Put it this way, I'll be in Croke Park tomorrow.

People from low income families lack the education to appreciate rugby.

Indeed. That's why the 'Knock and the 'Rock specialise in it. The riff-raff are kept out of it. Though, unfortunately it must be said, with the free third level fees, more and more of the underclasses are getting themselves degrees, and are now turning up at matches. Playing internationals on the northside was a terribly poor show, too, opening up 82000 places to people who are ill-equipped to appreciate the finer arts of the gentlemen's game.
