Slow Down

SE game from lastnite ive been playing a hand over and over in my head.

Im utg and have AA blinds 75/150 and i make it 475 to go. Called in three spots guy in late position, guy on the button and the small blind.

Flop comes down K9Q raindow small blind checks i lead for 1000 late position folds and guy on the button ponders for a minute gives a bit of speech "how much you got behind" the usual. He announces all in and has me covered by a little bit. Small blind folds and i think for a second and ship it straight over the line.

I turn over my hand and he turns over pocket 9's. Ouch wasnt really expecting that!

When you are makeing decisions about moving all in or calling an all in do u take ur time in making the decisions or just jam ur chips straight in thinking you have the best of it?

K high flop ive pocket Ace's usually a no brainer but if i had of thought about the hand for a minute i knew i was probably behind in this spot and been able to get away from it.

it may be a K high flop but thats still a horrible flop for AA after being called in three places!

maybe you should edit out the results to get un biased comments???

but honestly that flop is horrible for AA as 99-QQ is in range, KQ,JT, all possible hands that will call in late pos here... id never get overly excited about that flop to be honest. but it would be a situational read that would make my mind up in the end,

i think you should think about it whether your moving or calling all in, i think you should always think about a decision and be clear in your own head

how much did you have behind? How much did the villain have?

If its only a few k more I probably just stick it in. If it's more and there is some reasonable chance I could get away from the hand then I'd consider it for a little longer. When they ask how much do you have ans stick it in one pair is usually beat (except when I do it!! ;) )

You do have a general tendency to act fairly quickly in some spots Danny and take your time in other spots which you maybe shouldn't. The obvious fix is to take a fixed time with everything but that's not always feasible.

I fold that dreadful flop probably, depending on stacks.

agree totally normally you will be up against a better hand on this flop after 3 callers

That is pretty much the worst flop you could hope for with the pointy fellows.
Maybe decide to take a set amount of time before your actions.

Ah Danny how are we?What Olly say is spot on-sometimes the amount of time you take can really give away your hand a little.

its a very hard spot to fold, but its a horrible flop. too many hands there that could have called you. i'd fold.

the one thing about your play though, i dont like the raise, from early position, i would either make it a lot more expensive to go, or limp. that raise is not enough to frighten off average hands, i'd have been in myself with any pair even if i had one caller to your raise before me.

by the way the reason for a limp is obviously hoping for a raise from someone else, so that you can go mental back at him.:D

I had 6500 total and he had 7000. Thats what im trying to address if i had of had a think for a minute or two i would of realised and been able to make the lay down and still have an ok stack to play with.

I had been on a little bit of a roll and i was gettin blinded by the cards. Live and learn Sam.

I normally dont go with the standard 3 times the bb raise. But i was trying to get a little bit more value from my big hands. And i hate the limp re-raise!

I usually know before I make an action what I'm doing depending on what happens, i.e. in this spot if I was betting 1k into 3 players, I'd have my mind pretty much made up what I was doing if any of the players push over me based on how I view them. So the time to take your time is before you make the bet not after you've made it. Just a little piece of advice.
