Ok I went and bough Viva Piniata last week, got it second hand and the disc looked perfect, no scratches or nothing.

When I got home it wouldn't play in my Xbox..... The following messages appeared.

    "Multimedia Disc"
    "Unplayable Disc"

I got it exchanged no problems but I am wondering what could have caused it to be like that when it was perfect and also do stores not play test anything they get back in??

You sure it wasn't a well done backup?

Like a DVDR but with a nice printed label?

Could be the first sign your DVD drive is on the way out, it wouldn't recognise some of mine before I sent it back and does now.

This was only bought about 4 months ago and gotten fairly little use. I got a new copy of the game after they tested it out and saw it didn't work for themselves so it was definately the disc.

It goes to show that the shops don't test them when they take them in.
