    Why?! 30,000 ducks * $100 = $3million.

the plastic should last 100 years, so we hope it will continue.”

The landfalls have all been logged on a computer model called the Ocean Surface Currents Simulation, which is used to help fisheries and find people lost at sea. Two children’s books have been written about the saga and the ducks have become collector’s items, changing hands for £500.
£500 that's a lot of euros no wonder they are offering a £50 reward

There's several containers of runners floating out there too

True, there's real profits in that. I think it's how Pablo Escobar got started too.

Hmm, do those little tiny paper ships get picked up on radar? Or rubber ducks for that matter? I think the perfect way (albeit really slowly) way of smuggling drugs abroad has just been revealed.

Maybe that's why they're offering $100 for each...

It'd be interesting to know about a lot of the (modern) stuff that's been lost over the years. I'm willing to bet there are a few thousands luxury cars sitting at the bottom of the Atlantic.

They could wash up on Southern Ireland!

 Sound the alarum ! To the battlements ! Man the anti-duck guns ! Release the Eagles !

Am I the only one getting the urge to buy a load of rubber ducks and drop them into the sea?
Might be better if they were fitted with little transmitters so they could be tracked a bit better than this current lot though... really am curious as to where their journeys would take them...even have the themetune to "The Littlest Hobo" in my head now... (sh*t showing my age here...:o )

What about the 1,000s of duckies that were released into the Liffey last year - they broke a world record methinks.... I have 3 of them at home :D

We did a duck race here in limerick and they got the tides wrong and half of them headed down the shannon to the atlantic.

Would be class to find on though

I was just wondering that. Didn't know what was going on that day. Went into town about 8pm and O'Connell bridge was jammed with people looking over, thought there'd been some major incident.

You could try flogging yours for 500 quid each!

They're numbered and everything and they have "2006 World Record Duck Race" or something to that effect on them. They were released in the afternoon, but were knocking around for days after!

It looked deadly. Went on the lash that night and on the way home (sober of course:D :D ) me and a few mates climbed down the steps outside Tara Street Station and I plucked me 3 duckies from the slime! GANK!!! They were scrubbed clean of course!!

I wonder would they be worth anything.....

The armada will be swept out to sea ... not reaching the shores.

It was providence that damned the Spanish flotilla. Britain will rejoice. The overrated c*nt daughter of Henry VIII will "go down" (ha) in history as the most overrated monarch of all times ... given undue credit for helping to build Britain in to the World's most powerful force despite having the IQ of a gnat (dimmer than even Victoria) along the way becoming a scourge to Ireland and her people. Also managing to pull off the biggest BS marketing scheme in Royals history with the moniker the "Virgin Queen" to hide the fact she was a right dyke or infertile (must've been Syph) ... haps both? Obscuring the fact that the greatest female monarch of all times was Catherine the Great of Russia ... an arse kicking femme fatale that actually had a brain stem and didn't need advisors to steer her ship. She either grudge shagged or offed her advisors ... usually both.

Sorry ... hold on ... were we talking about ducks?
