Hi folks..I'm new to the board but from reading the various threads there seems to be a good body of golf knowledge out there. I'm looking for help in locating a good place to try out irons before making a purchase. You used to be able to try out demo clubs in McGuirks in Celbridge but it looks like they have closed down...would anyone out there recommend anyone or any place that will allow you to demo clubs before purchasing......

There's Spawell out in Tallaght. They have a good selection of clubs to demo and a 40+ bay driving range. Also a new shop has opened in Ballymun, its called Premier Golf. Was in there at the weekend as im looking for irons too. They have an area to test clubs and they can custom fit clubs for you, but they seemed a good bit dearer than McGuirks...

Another option is McGuirks in Blanch, they will have their indoor range open from the 2nd of Sept.

I am not sure if celbridge Mcguirks shop is open or not but i am getting a lesson at portmarnock next week and they have a golf works shop there a friend said he hit a few different clubs there.
In terms of custom fitting to get fitted properly you need to hit balls on a fairway or range to get measured correctly.
    Best of luck
