Suspension Question

2 week ago I got a straight red card in a junior football match. It was quite a harsh decision as it was an accidental collison - that was the opinion of most of the people at the match, but regardless of that I got a months suspension. My question is I know the suspension is one month and a game and I missed our championship game last weekend, does that mean my suspension is up now or do I still have to wait for a month. I find it ridiculous because depending on the time of the year a months suspension could result in missing one match or missing 3 if there was 3 matches in the space of that month. I have asked the club about this and they think it's a month regardless of how many matches I miss, unfortunately I think they may be correct but I just want to clarify??

Think they're right - its a ridiculous system where one player might only miss one game and another could miss 3 or 4.
I was suspended once when a county secretary (eejit) misread a referee's report (I got a second yellow, should have been no suspension). Club was notified I was suspended for 8 weeks. Had to wait nearly 4 weeks for a hearing, missed 3 games, then at the hearing the tw@t realised her mistake and just said oops, sorry.
    GAA disciplinary system sucks!

Rebellad, unfortunately you are suspended for the month and not for the number of matches. The suspension system is a crock really, they should suspend on the number of games rather than on weeks or months.

My understanding is that you are suspended for a month, irrespective of how many games it is, unless your team plays no games,in which case you must miss the next match that they play even if it is after the month that you were suspended.

Thanks for the info guys, I was hoping there was some loophole!!! - just found out our next game is Saturday night so gonna be missing that as well - disaster!! . It's a ridiculous system, makes a mockery of all the training done for the last 6 months. I guess thats why we all love the GAA so much ;)

Ban on number of games and not time period is way overdue alright. I know a guy who broke anothers jaw in an Intermediate C'ship game, he got 6 month ban but only missed 2 games as it was end of August, a complete joke.
