Gear Porn ... and a special moment ... and what the pros said about the 1D Mk III

Ok ... I did the Dublin v Kerry match today ... great experience ... have a shed load of keepers ... probably more to do with having two bodies this time ... makes a big difference to your shooting ability ... plus the 5D gives you options you don't have with the crop bodies ... (Valentia ... that shot we discussed may be in the bag thanks to your 5D ;)) ...

Spoke to a few 1D Mk III using pros after the game and they are all happy with it ... the proportion of keepers is much the same as they would expect ... though they all said it was no better than previous cameras including - D3X (I think ... Nikon model numbers are not my field) and 1D MkIIN ... which is possibly a bad sign since the AF is supposed to be "improved" ... none of the photographer using it were familiar with the CFn settings ...

Anyways got my conflict shot in the bag ... need to post it, hope it is not too late ... but in the interim these two are probably not the best ones but I'm posting em here for obvious reasons ... more to come in my flickr -

Even with my 100-400L I felt mighty inadequate amongst this crowd:

And ... while this is not my best action shot ... it is 1 second before the moment the Dubs challenge was effectively ended for this season (bloody doctor bloke got in the way :p) -

I wrote a Macro to covert and resize the square prints into polaroids ... got the central print and resized the canvas ... and then placed the polaroids around the edge each with its own layer ...
