    Hey, so I got my new laptop on Friday, it's a Dell Vostro and it's lovely... :D

    My question is, I was looking through some of the programs in my program list, have no idea what they are or are they needed... Some people have said that i should get something called the Dell DeCrapifier, but that didn't work...

    I have a few programs, should I remove them? Or are they needed??

    They are:

    * Broadcom Management Programs (i think this is for the wireless or something?)
    * Dell Support Center
    * Dell System Customization Wizard
    * DellSupport
    * Media Direct

    Any of them useless/bloat???

    Cheers.

    keep the broadcom, dump the rest. Or better still format the laptop and throw on your own copy of a OS

    dell support and support center are used for a dell support technician to take control of your laptop over an internet connection if you run into problems with the laptop. it might be worth keeping these..........

    I've heard a few people say that... What does it intail? Will it screw with stuff like your warrenty and stuff?

    My laptop came with a windows cd, could i just re-install that and be without all the bits and bobs extra?

    Also, won't i lose all the drivers and stuff??

    Sounds like a lot of work really....
