O.k i've mixed views of the villain in this hand some times he's rocky and then other times he is just plain mad, for example in a recent hand he went to tank town 200 bb's deep with top two v. my top set in an unraised pot, perhaps a moment of tilt... overall he is an average player.(he sucked out :))

Over 300+ hands villain is 44/5.4

Some table history, villain makes a haha note as I just stacked off a player with AA, i raised in position with small connectors and hit the flop hard

    Three hands later......

Have you seen him 3-bet like this without AA before?? That's a pretty low PFR, it'd be a sick fold though, I presume with the possible flush draw out it makes this an easy shove, I'm trying to learn PLO myself at the moment and I'd like to see if this is an insta shove because of the flush draw, or should we only shove here if we have some kind of draw to go with middle set. I can't see him making this bet with KK (unless possibly AcKKxc or the likes, possibly something like 4567, I really want to fold this, but I'm not sure if that would be a huge mistake

id be alot more comfortable with some sort of re-draw in this situation... and considering he has half his stack in on the flop he is not folding anything, i think he probably has AA here or A with flush draw as ste05 said..... as i said i wouldnt feel overly comfortable in putting him in but since you can be pretty sure that he was betting any flop, and since he only has like $46 behind after this bet i probably set him in and pray he has air, cause we dont look much good against much else!

the flip side is you have commited $14? to this pot and you can easily fold here since you have so little invested.... its situational and read dependant, do you think this villain will only make this move with AA pre flop considering his stack size and yours for that matter...knowing that he will probably be commited afetr the flop regardless??? or do you think he is capable of the re raise with a rundown hand??? if you think he is capable of a little creativity id be more inclined to call and i expect to see a flush draw 90% of the time, if you have him as an abc type then he has AA and you can fold easily losing $14....

im starting to confuse myself now sorry!

This was my dilemma with the hand, i would generally view him as ABC and i would apply a very narrow range to his raise out of the BB which would include AAxx and AcKKxc however the previous hands did weigh heavily on my mind, on stars you often see players trying to mimic moves they saw 10 hands ago....

He knows i could be raising with air but he also knows I will call in position with any decent holding to try and stack him....

    meh

if he is 44/5 he has aces here too often and you should fold.

Yeah 5 for PRF is very low for PLO, I'd fold.

    fold.

One of those typical horrid PLO situations. His reraise out of the BB screams AAxx to me esp. with those figures. A tough fold.

Used my time bank on this one and eventually found a fold...I thought it was somewhat weak afterwards but I just could not ignore his stats and position.

Just another quick add on, just say you are this guy and actually do have AA, should he have just fired pot here or should he CR etc. ??

Just bet, don't give a free card to clubs and you might get called by 77xx anyway. But if I was 44/5 I wouldn't be reraising most of my AA hands there.

Yeah that's what I reckoned, and obviously I'd have a higher PFR than 5

if you the guy with AA you have to lead at the pot yes.....

a check is so suspicious anyway, but you want to get all in on the flop here so you lead, its very rare you will run into a thinking player who will fold 77 in this spot...

this is of course in this particular situation by the way, i am taking stack size into account

Personally if was him and did have AA I would always lead out especially with the flush draw on board, however with AcAxcx I sometimes check it to induce bluffs and bets from other club draws, mix it up at your own discretion... the problem with checking is that you let the cheeky gutshot and runner runner draws in if the players do not accomodate you with a bet.

I suppose there's also the times when you 3-bet without AA where you can represent AAA, so to do it without AA you have to do it with AA too.

i like most ppl have learned the hard way - if you are ahead on the flop bet pot(i.e if you are in villians shoes), cause say he checks and you were to check behind and the Js or Qs comes on the turn then you have a bigger draw - 12 outs to the nuts and will defo be up for any action.

however also be aware of the sick beats in this game.
