Nope, you would probably need a big dish, which would have to pointed in a different direction and a different receiver/box aswell.

theres this german news channel on the sky satellite, but not sure if it has german or english audio

If he points at Astra 1 he shouldn't have any difficulty in getting German channels on a Sky box.

    He might...
There seems to be a problem with other Channels if the Sky Box does not get Sky to start with in some cases.

There is Deutche Welle and Euronews in German. To get EuroNews in German, you need to change the language options in Services menu to German.

As Watty said. Probably not. AFAIK recentish s/w changes rendered it difficult to get in to the Other Channels if the digibox doesnt boot up on Sky. It could be that if it cant load the EPG then the Other Channels remains inaccessable.
Just did a quick check and you can access Add Channels but not Other Channels if not booted on Sky.
I have read it may be possible if you used a switch to swap between the sats or perhaps if you moved the dish but thats an experiment for another time. Maybe someone with Sky feeding from a quad on a motorised dish could give it a try.

Watty I see you cited as an author on Satcure.
    Kudos
Or perhaps its Martin should be praised for having you guest author on his site.

Meh, it works for me. Maybe because the box didnt receive any update as it isn't connected to a dish pointing at Astra 2.

Hee he, yes, found it: http://www.satcure.com/tech/channels.htm

Maybe you should ask them for a link to your web site if you have one?

Ooh! You published your address and tel. no.

[let people figure out Google themselves :) ]

Might I suggest you edit the last post to remove that link. I am sure most people dont want their full personal details published in open public forum, inadvertently or otherwise. A pm might have been more appropriate.

One slip with a sig and wrong email account to a mailing list and you are only a google away from everyone knowing..

There is no anonymity anymore ...

Yes. Martin Pickering and I exchanged emails many times in the past.

That is a very old page maybe 7 years ago.

Going out of your way to find it in the first place is childish enough, but highlighting it in open public forum is bordering on the malicious. I only came across the acknowledgement to Watty while having a look what Martin said about digibox s/w as I was sure it was there I read mention of a method to use it on other sats, I hadnt noticed this acknowledgement before and thought it could be recent. I wasnt to know it would inspire others to go looking for your personal details.
    That just not on.
Perhaps you should remove this entire thread to stop adding a few more googlets or attracting more google****s:(
