Condolences to his family and friends.

I think Monaghan was the last game he was at. At least he knew Shelbourne FC were safe in his dying days.

I don't know if anybody has had as much dedication for a club as Ollie. He raised the bar for every other club in the league with his vision of professionalism. Dare I say, a League of Ireland legend?

    May he Rest In Peace.

I am a Bohs Gal myself so I was not a massive fan of Ollie

However the league and the sport in this country has lost a true champion.

RIP Ollie, we will all miss you.

Thursday's game has been moved to Saturday as a result. Really hope there's a huge crowd (even of nonShels supporters) to pay their respects.

If every club had an Ollie Byrne the league wouldn't be the shambles it is at the moment. Tireless worker and a man who loved his team. Sad day for Shels and the eL.

what a major loss not only to Shelbourne but to Irish football as a whole, if there were more people within in the Irish game with the dedication Ollie had, the game in this country would be far better off, whatever his faults, he did mostly good and all that has to be admired, he was a true legend. there is no question that Ollie had a volatile side to his character but from the few occasions i met him i can genuinely say he was very warm man and the angry ''bad guy'' image often portrayed of Ollie in the media and around Irish football circles was never an accurate reflection of the man. i don't think we will ever see a man as dedicated to his club as Ollie Byrne was again

i was down at Tolka today and the image attached shows just how much Ollie meant to so many people, if anyone doesn't know there is a book of condolence outside Tolka so if you're passing by feel free to sign if you wish

    R.I.P Ollie
