Does anyone know how you can get Google Notifier for Mac to work with the College proxy? Its such a handy little application but it wont work in college, a pain since ill be in halls next year and using a tcd net connection all the time.

I've never had a problem with it in college, as long as your computer is set up with the correct network settings it should work fine. Just had a look and couldn't see anywhere within the notifier's preferences for entering proxy settings so I assume it just takes the system settings. Does everything else work for you in college? Skype? Are you logging into your TCD account with the notifier or your gmail?

The notifier will pick up the proxy settings that safari is using, so check if safari is working OK. If not, you'll have to set the proxy under the "Mac Logo">Location>College and change the proxy settings. You may also need to start safari, go to some external site and login to the proxy each time you boot the mac to give you access.
Finally, make sure you have granted the notifier access to your keychain for your proxy credentials.
