Just bought this tv yesterday and its fantastic! Only €570 after 5% discount which you get on most of the tv's.

    Heres the specs:

    Walker TV

    HDMI x1
    VGA
    Component
    S-Video
    SCART x2
    PC audio in

Am playing Xbox 360 in HD right now. Couldnt be happier with the purchase. Played my friends Samsung 32" the other day and I cant see any difference in quality!

Highly recommended from Powercity in Coolock opposite Crown paint warehouse.

    Anybody else pick this up?

HD Ready according to the site, not full HD, but its certainly cheap for 32in HD ready

Who are Walker? I can't find a website for them

Chances of getting a full 1080p screen at that price... super slim

Assuming they're just a spurious brand, tis a good deal for €570

Yes, the highest setting I could get was 720p and 1080i, no 1080p. It really is a fantastic telly for that price. Playing bioshock at the moment and its excellent!

The beko actually isnt better quality. I found the walker was better. The latter also has a few extra ports. :D

Xtra-vision are selling off the last of their Mirai 32 inch LCDs for €549. If you buy a display model you can it for €50 less. This is the one they were selling for (I think) €699 around Christmas time last year. They're being replaced replaced by a new Mirai, same specs, for €599.

so is there a conclusive verdict people can agree about ?

which flat screen tv is the best to get ? Im going to buy a flat screen TV pretty soon as my old CRT blew up last week and I ve replaced it with a temporary portable .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 303 ✭✭brian_rbk

I doubt there is a tv everyone would agree on :) ... The beko and walker tvs discussed above are less than 600 euro and are great value for money... but you get what you pay for. If you want better picture quality, the new sony's start at 900, but samsung seem good value for money. The 32" R82 is great value, retailing anywhere from 850 - 900

I'm so pissed off. I turned up at aldi in Parnell Street at 8.30 am and queued up ( at a not insubstantial queue) thinking I'd be one of the first in the door.
At 9.03 am they let us in the door and I go to a TV and the staff asked me 'sir do you have a ticket'.

Apparently people had queued up much earlier than me and had been handed out tickets to claim the TV for later. Arrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhh

I saw some guy minding 3 TVs. I was thinking like wtf what a selfish bastard! And how wrong of Aldi to allow him to have more than one.

    Ok rant over ,lol

So whats the current best TV offer ? and any chance of the Tvs returning to Aldi ? My old Tv blew up 2 weeks ago, was replaced by a tiny portable and Im getting big screen withdrawal symptoms !!!

Misco are selling a 32" HD Ready Mirai for £300 (about €450). From what I can gather on their site, it's £18 for delivery (Link, though you might need to ring them, as when it comes to entering your address, only UK is available via dropdown menu.

They're probably just getting rid of old models, like Xtravision are doing.
