Are you imply you can't get an intelligent answer here?

I think if you're studying Film, and want to ask technical questions, then Film Production would be the best forum here.

Simply ask an intelligent question and you shall receive an intelligent answer (probaly not by me though, which is ironic because I am a film student).

please dont focus on the whole...intelligent answer part...(that wasnt a reflection on the forum)

what i meant having somone in the know about a particular area on Film..

I'm currently starting up an Essay on Film Noir titled as :"What was the demise of Film Noir?"..

I was wondering for all those with good noir knowledge, could you shed some light on what i'd definantly have to have mentioned in the essay... (before you ask...this wasnt too well covered in class and i did not like the other titles offered)

    its 1600 words .

If anyone has some sort of a layout handy...id be extremely appreciative.

It has never really met with demise though has it?

Sure it would have been at it's peak in the 40s and 50s... but you'll still find a film or two released each year using this particular cinematic style.

im taking the angle that it has not demised and that using comparitive films to show my claims...

if anyone has information on this....it would really be helping me out..thank you.

I wrote an essay on the topic last year. In it i (successfully) argued that The Mask was indeed a film noir.

Well if they'd done a better job of sticking the source material then there definitely wouldn't be any argument there.

What killed off TRUE Film Noir was the switch from black and white to colour film.
