You can get new Sky+ boxes by Amstrad, Pace and Thomson. All current SKy+ boxes have Sky Anytime (whether you want it or not).

Although Sky have bougth Amstrad, Amstrad will not be the sole manufacturer of Sky hardware. Pace have signed a new contract with Sky recently, so they'll still be about for a while.

The current Pace box is the TDS470N alright. I have one myself, though I bought it second hand on eBay, and had to change the HDD after a month (though the new Samsung 250GB drive was worth the expense)

my current box is acting up

it turns off by itself and the fan noise out of it is unreal

is it easy to change the hard drive in a TDS470N box

It is fairly straightforward to upgrade a sky plus hard drive for anyone with some form of computer experience...

Here is a link for a site that gives step by step instructions..but every care should be taken when undertaking the task.
