I love my IC2E and it has given me many years service, but......the battery has finally died. Anyone got a spare battery they want to sell ? Standard or high power, not fussed.

Does it not just use tagged AA cells in the pack? If so you could have a go at rebuilding your own?
If they are non AA size don;t panic there are a number of other 'standard' non standard sizes such as 2/3 AA etc and there are number of suppliers who sell them on line for rebuilding packs, Even radionics (RS) do them if you dont mind paying a bit of a premium for the convinence of having them delivered next day.
I have rebuilt my FT23R pack on a number of occasions this way

No it's not AA cells, some smaller ones, similar to those in household cordless phones. It's not the actual batteries that have failed (though they were poor), its the small circuit board thats in there which controls the charging.

As the batteries held little charge anyway it will probably be better to simply replace the whole battery than attempt a repair.
