hey guys, dont know if this is the right forum, so admin please change if neccessary :)

basically, i have an assignment to get completed by the end of Sunday and i have about 1/4 of it done, but ive been finding everything and anything under the sun to avoid doing it (I am the master of procrastinating) the thing is, this assignment wagers on me getting back into college (long story) so you'd think I'd be more worried about it? Im my worst own enemy, leaving it to the last minute, and then freaking out as then ive feck all time left to complete it.

I'd say its still rectifiable at this stage, just wondering if anyone has any advice on making me focus on the work? I've still research to do on the subject also.

just so you know....the word count i need is 1700 words (may not seem alot, but to my lack of patience and current ill-motivation, seems like alot)

Does anyone have any advice as to boost my mentality to get this sorted? Maybe a tecnique to get this started?? I doesnt seem like a huge problem, but everyone is different.

    Thanks in advance guys.

Tips from the queen of procrastination:

    - sketch out your ideas on a notepad (but don't take longer than 15 minutes to do this)
    - as above, sit down, open Word, promise yourself you'll start with 30 minutes of work and see how it goes

Once you get it going, it'll be a lot easier...

All of the above but before doing so, go out for a walk and fill your lungs with some fresh air. If you are anywhere near water, walk alongside it(gushing water/rough tide is best as it stimulates the body to release endorphins as well as activating some of the nerves in your brain) Believe me, it works! If the idea of leaving the house brings on a bout of the guilts, then have a cold shower.
    Good luck!! LL

Do this and also "spider storm". Idea in the middle, and expand. See the picture for an example. The topic is car. Doing this, will quickly give you ideas, then just fill the gaps, and you've got your essay.

I procrastinated for two years over a Masters thesis that needed to be about 30,000 words (or 41 words a day). I kept thinking it would come together as I'd always managed it before. It didn't. Now I've wasted (a total of) three years thinking every day about an MSc I don't have.

Step One: Get off the internet. The rest should be easy.
