Can someone tell me the easiest way to obtain visa's for Laos/Cambodia/Vietnam. I am flying into thailand and am intending to stay 2 weeks in each country.

I heard that there is travel agents in Khao San road in Bangkok and they will sort visa's out for you. Is this true?

Can someone help me out on this?

You can now get a cambodia visa online. It takes a couple of days. Google it. You can get a Laos visa on arrival. Google it. Vietnam is more complicated. Google it.

For Vietnam, I had to send my passport to the Embassy in London with some money and a form. It takes at least two weeks, unless you want to go to London in person. http://www.vietnamembassy.org.uk/consular.html

You can get all your visa's over there, every second shop advertises Visa's - it's absolutely no problem. Don't worry about it until you get there.

    thanks glowing (as usual)

    that sounds very encouraging!

i also heard that you have to give the travel agents your passport for at least a day so the can sort the visa's out for you. this sounds a bit risky, ever hear of any bad experiences with this.

Yes you do - some guesthouses arrange the visa's so you might feel safer handing it to them instead of a random Travel Agent. I haven't had any problems, haven't heard of any either. You might get overcharged possibly but i've never heard of a passport going missing ....
Ask around for recommendations when you get there ......

You can go to the embassies and organise them yourself if you want. I did while I was there, more because I didn't want to be handing my passport around to get it done than to save cash. It probably works out cheaper to do it yourself too.
