    Hi,
    I was wondering if anyone could give me the name of a decent optician in Dublin for the driver's test? I don't really want to go to specsavers. I've heard it's not the most thorough...

    If you want a thourough eye exam, you need to go to an opthamologist who will dilate your pupils. If you have pseudomyopia this is particularly important. Sorry, I can't offer a recommendation, but what you need is an opthamologist not an optician.

    It's doesn't really matter who you go to once your eyesight meets the prescribed standards set out at the bottom of Form D502.

    Never been to Specsavers myself but I've been to loads of different opticians in Dublin and I've found they're all pretty good and about the same (got pretty much the same test results from them all anyways!), but I go to the Optical Shop in Blackrock village for my specs and I find they're very good in there.
