    and

    Supporting Statement:

I basically explained that It wasn't feasible for me to live at home both practically and financially since my home is in Laois.

Since you are going into first year show that you see this as an opportunity to make good friends and Trinity Halls accommodates that goal. Simply because everybody attending is in the same boat.

They are looking to make life easier for students by providing this accommodation. So if by staying Trinity Halls will your life be much easier? Explain why.

Hobbies: I would boast your sporting achievements, musical prowess and show that you have a balanced lifestyle. Don't say you like partying and drinking jager bombs with mates and roll quality joints with only top notch dutch reefer.

I would just like to say that they will be reading both statements and whether you get in or not can actually depend on these statements. Do put effort into them.

They are looking to see if you will fit in. For example, putting down if you're an angry loner who likes to listen to heavy metal music between 9pm and 8am may not get you in. Saying how you enjoy socialising with friends, meeting new people, blah de blah de blah. It's like applying for a job, you pimp yourself up.

Aside: I hate applying for jobs.

Bollox I didn't know about this and I made my application days ago! What should I do? Can I still write one?

I know a few people who put in shag all effort and still got in - but it would be definately a good idea to convince them you'll contribute to the community.
