    Hi folks,

    Need a bit of advice.

I never believed the hype up til last weekend but played a round with a Pro V1. The difference and ability to hold the green was amazing.

Playing off 15, and can still loose a ball or 2, and at near €5 a ball don't really want to spend that much hitting them into the rough.

Can ye suggest a good softer ball, that won't break the bank, and is readily available.

    Other Option

Do any of ye bring in golf balls from the States? I have a friend who can send me a "gift" of golf balls. What are the packaging costs?

    Awaiting responses.

    Many Thanks.

    Daconn

the nxt tour is similar to the pro v1 for most players. you can also get last
years nike one platinums for about 40/12 of lower in some stores, again they spin like the pro v1.

Have a look on eBay. You can get Pearl Grade ProV1s from UK for about e1.50 each. Shipping costs a bit though. I had 24 landed for e52. If you have a few mates, you can order more & save on the shipping. They take about 3 weeks to arrive but are pretty much perfect. Certainly adequate for us 15 handicappers.
I've managed to play my last 4 rounds with the same ball, won 3 prizes & lost 3 full shots off my handicap :p

The bigger golf stores (American Golf etc) and even the likes of TK Maxx and JJB all have refurbished pro-v1's on sale for around 18 euro per dozen. Decent value and good enough to practice or for competition!

What do you mean by refurbished pro-v1's?
Are they factory seconds that are re done?
How are they refurbished & do they hit the same?
Also was looking on ebay for balls and there seems to be different gradings of balls, mint, near mint, very good, really good, AAAA, AAA, AA?
Obviously I know which is higher :) but I presume Mint & AAAA are brand new, the rest are not?
