Just upgraded to sky+ recently, (Pace 160GB PVR 3) the fan seems to run on for days at a time before powering down is this normal ?

Had this problem in a Sky Thomson HD box, got fed up with fan churning so I unplugged from wall and loaded channels again from start, it has not happened since but feel it needs a firmware fix.

Thanks for the reply stanley1 I'll give it another day or two to see if it sorts it's self out if not I'll try and sort something out myself. Seem to remember printing off some tech tips and tricks a while ago for sky+ problems if I could just remember where I put it now!

Is the Sky + box in a well ventilated press? The fan should only come on to keep the unit cool, if its sitting on something such as a dvd, try placing something underneath the four corners to raise it a little...

Thanks Stevon, but no there's nothing else near it. It's sitting on the glass shelf under the TV, DVD, amp etc are on shelf below that. Maybe I'll try and pickup some little rubber feet and use them to raise it up a little.
