    Hi,

I bought a DVB-C card for my MCE PC but i does not detect the channels, the engineers menu on my Chorus Box works but shows no freqs, can some one give me the freq of a channel to see if i can manually tune, Does anyone know why my chorus box shows no freqs.

    Thanks

NTL/Chorus encrypt their digital channels, so you wont be able to watch them without their own equipment, legally. Im not sure, but I think Chorus are using DVB-T and not DVB-C, but someone else can confirm that for me.

Chorus use both DVB-T and DVB-C, depending on where you are determines the system you use.

Most but not all cable systems use DVB-C however some cabling systems used DVB-T. Around the country different frequencies are used. I think NTL only use DVB-T but not sure.

You cannot receive anything unless using legitimate chorus equipment to decrypt the channels. as doing so is termed as breaking the law.

Pitty, wanted to use my Vista MCE PC as my DVR for my instead of Chorus Box which is slow and would rather have one box for everything.

NTHELL use DVB-C in all their true cable areas, they use a symbol rate of 6887 whilst Chorus use a symbol rate of 6875, their transmission standard for MMDS is DVB-T,..& unless you scan using the correct symbol rate you'll get nothing,..
oh & btw I am refering to scanning with the offical NTHELL/Chorus stb's...;)
