Is there anything i should consider before opening a netteller account like currency for example. I will mostly be using it to withdraw from Noble Poker to my AIB bank account and on the odd ocassion transferring to and from poker sites to clear bonuses but it will be far less than withdrawing to my bank account. My Noble account is is $ i dont know if that complicates things and when i will be witdrawing it wont be less than $200 at a time.

Cheers and i know theres umpteen netteller threads but none i can find address this!

How do you mean? I already have money in my poker account, i will transfer the money into netteller and then do a bank transfer to AIB, where does laser come into this?

Also what ID do they usually look for when you setup an account, will a bak statement be enough?

Don't be in a hurry, it can take ages to get it all set up and verified.
You'll need various sorts of ID, then they do a test deposit of a random amount (<$1)to your bank account, which not all banks will accept without question. Then you enter that amount online to verify the account.

sorry only breezed through your post and assumed you'd be depositing aswell.

when i set up an account they asked for my drivers license number, think they ask for your passport number now. then they'll phone you, then do the transfer thing.

It isn't that longwinded. I had my account verified and all setup within a week.

i remember i had to get a swift and iban bank numbers don't know if you need these if you use Internet banking.

I would suggest that moneybookers is the easier option for anybody who's sums being moved are not substantial

( moneybookers can be funded by laser)

Im with Moneybookers and they are very fast, safe and efficient. They also take lodgements via bank transfer and laser as well as the normall ccards. I found withdrawing very easy too.

Cheers for the replies, Moneybookers looks good so, should i set it up in € or $ consdiering my noble account is in $ and my Bank Account is in € or does it make much difference when were dealing with a couple of hundred.

I presume a moneybookers/neteller transfer to bank account is a standard €10-15 fee or does it depend on the amount and bank im AIB btw

Maybe thats 1.9% when making a credit card deposit, i noticed thats what they charge on moneybookers when depositing via credit card, depositing via bank transfer is free and witdrawing as nic said is only €1.80 so i went with moneybookers in the end. I'll write up how long or any problems i came across when i get sorted

One thing to note is that if you top up your neteller with an AIB credit card (maybe any CC) it is treated as a cash transaction and you get hit with that fee from your bank.

I have done two AIB online transfers into Neteller too and I don't recall getting hit with a fee? I am open to correction though.

    is your account in euro?

I'm guessing the % charge i'm thinking of must be for currency conversion.

as regards neteller when setting up I would consider setting it up in dollars... mine is in euro and the last site to site transfer I did I lost 65 dollars.. I moved 4k from everest into neteller and then onto GJP and when it arrived I had 65 dollars less... was the exchange rate to transfer it from $ - € - $

neteller wont change the currency once the account is set up
