Electric Golf Caddy

I am looking into getting an electric golf caddy and came across this one online http://www.digitalwarehouse.ie/index.cfm/page/shop/productId/265 , the price looks good and what I really liked is that you can recharge in your car from the cigarette lighter so you don’t have the problem of arriving to the course with no battery. I have never seen one in the shops or on golf courses and just wondering if any one has any experience with them or do I just go for the known brands. (suggestions/comments welcomed.)

    Thanks

I played with a bloke who had one of these last summer, looks the part with all sorts of drinks holders and a few flashy lights on the handle.

    Perfect for a boy racer:D

Looks good though, your man had no problems with it but it wasn't too old. I'd be a bit concerned about a fully charged battery only lasting 24 holes though, doesn't leave much spare in the tank does it?
Batteries tend to deteriorate over time and it mightn't be long before it's barely lasting the 18 holes.
Then again you can push it without any hassle, but that defeats the purpose.

I don't like the way they are half telling you to roll it down hills, push it to get it started, push it between greens and tee boxes etc. Hope they're not getting their figures from test rounds where that's how they use it:eek:

    A couple of questions...
A further month down the line, is it still working fine?
How does it cope with undulating courses? A lot of our local courses would be on the sides of hills. We were going to get the father in law one, but at that price, I'd be tempted myself if it'd cope with more than just flat courses...

I would stick to powacaddy or golf glider. Powacaddy is the lighter and is easy to carry.

Ended up picking one up from adverts.ie for €100, brand new in it's box, no brand name but it is light and fits in the boot. (If i get a year or two out of it I will be happy) So far it has worked a treat, Battery did run low on me once but it turned out that my wife in her energy saving mode switched off the switch, now i keep it in the garage:)
