    Hi all,
Sorry if this has been been done before but does anyone know of good part time or evening courses that would be useful to get into photography as a career? How useful are these for getting work as a photographer?

Also do photographers take on people for work experience at weekends or evenings?

    Thanks.

Check out Griffith College in Dublin. They have a number of full and part time courses on offer.

as thefizz says Griffith College. do both a Diploma and Degree Photography course. I was at the open day yesterday and will be enrolling for their 1 year diploma course.

was thinking degree but the lecturer said the degree is more "artsy orientated" while the diploma course is designed to get you out and working in the field quick enough. you also learn to shoot with film & digital SLRs and digital & traditional darkroom techniques.

the part time one is 3 days a week for 3 hours plus some weekend work is required so its quite intensive but also quite detailed. course costs €3,900 and tax relief can be claimed also.

    hope that helps

    Hi

I am interested in photography and try the best I can with my simple digital camera. But I would like to learn more, and would like to find an evening course to get started. My aim is not to become professional, just for my own interest.

    Would anyone have a recommendation?
