Is there anyway to stop the prompt everytime I run certain applications.

Even if I set it to run as administrator I still get prompted everytime.

Its a pain in the rear.

    Turn off UAC

    See http://www.petri.co.il/disable_uac_in_windows_vista.htm

Better to leave it on tho

One thing to remember is that if you are using Vista Business the control panel method from that link will not work. The option just will not be there.

    Other methods i havent tried.

It should work on home premium and will work on ultimate.

Method #1 works fine on Vista Business.

    Method #1 - Using MSCONFIG

    1. Launch MSCONFIG by from the Run menu.
    2. Click on the Tools tab. Scroll down till you find "Disable UAP" (this should probably change to UAC in next Vista beta builds and in the RTM version). Click on that line.
    3. Press the Launch button.
    4. A CMD window will open. When the command is done, you can close the window.
    5. Close MSCONFIG. You need to reboot the computer for changes to apply.

Note that you can re-enable UAC by selecting the "Enable UAP" line and then clicking on the Launch button.

It's not actually nearly as bad as it sounds. Everyone here has admin rights and haven't encountered many problems because of it thus far.
It has infact made things a little easier as you can help them over the phone/email instead of having to run around to their machine and having to login as admin :p
