Laziness

I am extremely lazy in most things I do. In work I can be extremely lazy and this affects my performace. Around the house I couldn’t be bothered getting up and doing something. I love to read but most of the time couldn’t be bothered reading as it’s to much effort and so I just browse the internet all the time.

I do do exercise, I actually do an 8mile round trip on my bicycle most days and get a good 7-8 hours sleep a night. I also have a really good diet. These issues usually cause laziness, but I don’t do any of them.

Any way I can get over this laziness or ways to help, I know I have a problem and I need to get down to resolving it.

Do you feel burnt out at work? Are you bored? If your not inspired by what you do, you wont really be motivated into doing it well (or at all).

The internet is a thief of time (boards.ie excepted, of course ;) ) and its pretty addictive, maybe unplug your connection for a bit, and see if you start feeling a bit more motivated to do other things. Physical activity of any kind helps to pick up your mood, which might help too.(edit...of course, you cycle.... maybe try something new?)

Work performance is something that can be addressed immediately. If you are idle at work, ask for something to do. Your boss will be impressed by your enthusiasm.
You might also consider your happiness in the job. A change is often as good as a rest as they say. You'd be surprised how much of an effect your work ethic can have on your life outside of the office.

Sounds like boredom to me. Try not sitting down when you get home and organising stuff to do in the evenings. Keep trying different hobbies or look for a new job. Have goals...I don't mean money orientated ones. For example last year I aimed to climb Carrauntoohill and do a night course so did both. Give yourself a reward when you do something. If you are feeling tired all the time it could be a medical problem you have.

Agree it could be boredom tho perhaps worth asking doc for a blood test just in case you suffer from a lack of iron, maybe have mild diabetes, etc

Gosh OP, I could have written that post. Unbelievable. I think someone else earlier illuded to the fact that the internet is the sap of your time. I tend to agree. Last week, my charger broke for the home computer, so I wasn't able to get online after work. Thought it would be a drag, but it was great. Actually read a book, which is something I used to love doing and it never seems to take up as much time. With the internet there, the night just flies and I never have time to do all those little jobs, which just keep mounting up.

Tune in, plug out, time appreciate.
